Sprint

Make one worthwhile improvement properly.

Take one clear operational problem from good intention to a practical change that people can use.

When this is useful

A clear fit for the right situation.

  • The opportunity is understood well enough to act.
  • Day to day pressure keeps pushing the improvement aside.
  • The problem is contained enough for a focused engagement.
  • The people involved can help shape and test the change.

What the service does

Sprint in practice.

We define the outcome, understand the work affected, design the smallest useful change and put it into practice.

The goal is not activity. It is a working improvement with clear ownership.

What you receive

Useful outputs, clearly owned.

A defined outcome, an implemented improvement, practical testing and clear ownership.

01

A defined outcome

A clear scope and an agreed measure of success.

02

A practical improvement

A change designed around the real work and implemented within scope.

03

Testing and adoption

Practical testing with the people who will use the improvement.

04

Ownership and close out

Simple guidance, clear ownership and a record of what remains.

How it works

Focused from start to finish.

1

Define the result

Confirm the problem, outcome, scope, owner and success measure.

2

Design the change

Examine the affected work and shape the smallest useful improvement.

3

Put it to work

Implement and test the agreed change with the people involved.

4

Make it stick

Refine the improvement, hand it over and confirm ownership.

What we need from you

Access, context and decisions.

  • One accountable owner.
  • Timely access to the people involved.
  • Prompt decisions during the Sprint.
  • Discipline to protect the agreed outcome from new scope.

Scope and boundaries

Clear before work begins.

A Sprint addresses one defined operational improvement. It is not an open programme of work.

If the main deliverable is an AI environment, production agent workflow or custom application, we recommend the relevant Just Happens service.

Licences, external suppliers and material purchases are identified and approved separately.

Common questions

Things you may be wondering.

Do we need a Business Review first?

Not always. If the problem and intended outcome are already clear, a Sprint may be the right starting point.

What can fit into one Sprint?

One contained improvement that can be designed, implemented and tested within the agreed time and budget. We narrow the scope before work begins.

Will employees test the change?

Yes. Practical testing and adoption are part of the service, provided the relevant people are available.

What if we uncover a larger issue?

We protect the Sprint outcome, record the wider issue and recommend whether it belongs in a separate Sprint or Roadmap.

A sensible next step

Make useful progress.

Tell us the one thing you want to work better and why it matters. We will help determine whether it is ready for a Sprint.
